Knee Pain When Squatting, Climbing Stairs, or Standing for Long Periods?

Many patients mistakenly believe this pain is simply a normal part of aging, but modern, effective treatment is available to help. We offer a variety of comprehensive knee pain solutions.

Our complete non-surgical options (Gel, PRP, nerve blocks, and laser) are available at highly competitive prices.

You Used to Be Active—Now Even Standing Is Painful

If you are experiencing any of the following, your knee health may be deteriorating:

  • Pain Climbing Stairs: Feeling a sharp, stinging, or aching pain every time you step up or down.

  • Deep Bending Difficulties: Forced to sit on a high chair because your knee cannot fully fold or hurts when squatting or kneeling (e.g., gardening or cleaning).

  • Noisy Knees: Hearing clicking, grating, or grinding sounds (crepitus) when you move the joint.

  • Morning Stiffness: Knees feel tight or "locked," making it difficult to get up after sitting.

  • Medication Dependency: Over-the-counter painkillers are no longer effective.

Your knee cartilage is likely wearing down. Don't wait until the bones are fully grinding together!

Why Do My Knees Hurt?

The primary cause is Osteoarthritis (OA). This occurs when the natural joint lubricant decreases and the protective cartilage wears away.

We don’t guess, we verify first. At Klinik Uzma, we use X-rays to accurately determine the grade of your knee damage before recommending the right treatment for you.

NON-SURGICAL SOLUTIONS

4 Effective Knee Pain Treatment Options

Hyaluronic Acid (Gel) Injection

  • Function: Acts as an artificial joint fluid or "lubricating oil" for dry, stiff joints.

  • Benefit: Significantly reduces bone-on-bone friction and improves range of motion.

  • Durability: Typically requires a "top-up" injection after 1 year.

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) Injection

  • Function: The PRP liquid reduces pain and uses concentrated growth factors to stimulate natural joint recovery.

  • Benefit: Uses the patient's own blood, which is processed in-house to isolate the healing PRP components.

Genicular Nerve Block

  • Function: An injection of steroids and local anesthetic is administered directly to the pain-sensing nerves around the knee.

  • Benefit: Provides fast and often immediate pain relief.

  • Durability: Relief typically lasts 3 to 6 months, depending on the individual.

Laser Cryoneurolysis (Deep freeze block)

  • Function: A specialized cold laser technology is used to temporarily deactivate the nerves responsible for sending pain signals.

  • Benefit: A powerful non-surgical alternative to joint replacement, performed by an Orthopedic Specialist.

  • Durability: Pain relief can last from 1 to 3 years, depending on the individual.

STILL HAVE QUESTIONS?

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Please feel free to ask us any questions you have.

Q1: Is the knee injection procedure painful?

Before the procedure, the doctor administers a local anesthetic injection around the knee area. The procedure itself should therefore not be painful.

Q2: How long does the injection procedure take?

The knee injection itself is quite brief, estimated to take only 15-20 minutes. The preparation process for PRP fluid, which involves processing the patient's blood, takes a bit longer, estimated at 40-90 minutes. Laser Cryoneurolysis takes 2–3 hours.

Q3: Which doctors perform these procedures?

All procedures, except for Laser Cryoneurolysis, are performed by our experienced resident doctors, many of whom are female. Laser Cryoneurolysis is performed by a qualified Orthopedic (Bone) Specialist.

Q4: Is pain relief guaranteed after the injection?

The vast majority of our patients are satisfied, reporting reduced pain, better knee movement, and less stiffness. However, effectiveness varies per individual, and results are not guaranteed. We strongly recommend an initial consultation with our doctor.

Q5: How frequently will I need a knee gel injection?

Every case is different. Based on our data, patients typically return for a knee gel "top-up" after 1–2 years once they find their knees are no longer comfortable.
